Dallas. Marco Sturm opened the scoring for Boston before Sean Avery evened the game in the first period. The Bruins then reeled
off four unanswered goals by Patrice Bergeron (unassisted game-winner), Phil Kessel, Mark Stuart (his first of the season) and Sturm
again for the victory. Tim Thomas made 35 saves for the win as the Bruins were outshot by a 36-25 margin. The Bruins scored a power
play goal on six opportunities while killing off all six of their times short. The teams combined for 146 penalty minutes in the game
with Boston's 77 PIM their highest game total since 2002.

- Oct. 30, 2008: Boston 2 at Calgary 3 ... The Bruins had their three-game win streak and 2-game shutout streak (158:25) snapped
with a 3-2 loss in Calgary in the final game of their three-game Western Canada swing ... Patrice Bergeron opened the scoring in the
first period with an unassisted tally but the Flames scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead. Blake Wheeler pulled the Bruins

second straight 1-0 shutout with Michael Ryder scoring the game's only goal at 10:16 of the first period assisted by Marc Savard
and Marco Sturm ... Tim Thomas became the first Boston goaltender with consecutive shutouts since Apr. 3-5, 1999 (Byron Dafoe)
and is only the second goaltender in NHL history to record consecutive-night 1-0 blankings (Florida's Craig Anderson, Mar. 2-4,
2008). The Bruins went 0-2 on the power play, although their goal was scored on a delayed penalty with Thomas out of the net, and

- Oct. 27, 2008: Boston 1 at Edmonton 0/OT ... The Bruins opened this current three-game road trip with a 1-0 overtime win in Edmon-
ton last night. Dennis Wideman scored at 3:18 of the extra session on the power play assisted by Zdeno Chara and Marc Savard. Tim
Thomas earned his eighth career shutout with 27 saves as the Bruins outshot Edmonton by a 36-27 margin. The Bruins were 1 for
4 on the power play while stopping all three Edmonton man advantages.

- Oct. 25, 2008: Atlanta 4 at Boston 5 ... The Bruins closed out the first period with an 0-2 deficit, but struck twice in a 2:20 span at the
start of the second to knot the score at two. The teams traded goals through the middle of the third period and entered the final two
minutes of regulation in a 4-4 tie. Milan Lucic finished his career-high night with his first career hat trick, scoring his third goal of the
game at 18:19 of the third to give the Bruins the win. Stephane Yelle scored his first goal/point as a Bruin and David Krejci had the

2008-09 Season Notables:

- Tim Thomas was in net for both shutouts in Edmonton and Vancouver and had a personal shutout streak of 154:43 over that span.
- Thomas is the first Boston goaltender with consecutive shutouts since April 3-5, 1999 (Byron Dafoe) and according the the Elias Sports Bureau, he is just the second goaltender in NHL history to record consecutive 1-0 road victories, matching Florida's Craig Anderson who shutout out NY Islanders and Boston on Mar. 2 & 4, 2008.
- Thomas was selected as the NHL's Second Star of the week, as the two shutouts began a week that also saw him drop a 3-2 decision in Calgary on Oct. 30 and take a 5-1 win over Dallas on Nov. 1 ... In all, Thomas had a 3-1-0 record, 0.99 GAA and .970 save percentage on the week.

Bruins to Honor Military Families on Saturday, November 8:

- The Bruiins will host over 1,000 members of local military families on Saturday, November 8 when they take on the Buffalo Sabres at TD Banknorth Garden on "Seats for Soldiers" Night.
