STAIOS PLAYS 500TH CAREER OILERS GAME
- Oilers assistant captain Steve Staois played in his 500th career Oilers game vs Nashville (Feb. 1), becoming the 19th player in Oilers history to play in 500-or-more regular season games. Staios joins Ethan Moreau (14th with 548 GP) and Shawn Horcoff (17th with 529 GP) as active Oilers with 500-or-more games played.
- Staios played his 800th career NHL game at Minnesota (Jan. 15). He has scored 52-133-185 in 806 career NHL games since making his NHL debut with Boston in 1995-96.

CENTURY MARK FOR MOREAU
- Ethan Moreau scored the GWG vs Minnesota (Jan. 30) to registers his 100th career Oilers goal. Moreau becomes the 16th player in Oilers history to reach the century mark in career goals and is tied with Jason Arnott on the Edmonton all-time goal list.

AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS
- Steve Staios leads the Oilers and is tied for 16th place in the NHL with 98 blocked shots.
- Shawn Horcoff has won 53.0% of his face-offs (573-1082) this season to rank 27th in the NHL in face-off winning percentage. He leads the NHL with his 1082 face-offs and is 2nd in face-offs won with 573.

OF NOTE
- Tom Gilbert haD his career-high four-game scoring streak ended vs Minnesota (Jan. 30). The Oilers defenceman, who has scored 3-22-25 in 49 games this season, scored 1-5-6 during the streak from Jan. 16-27.
- Gilbert's 22 assists are a single-season career-high, surpassing his previous high of 20 assists scored with the Oilers in 2007-08.

- Denis Grebeshkov had a three-game scoring streak ended in the Oilers 2-1 loss vs Nashville (Feb. 1). The streak, which equaled his career-high, saw the Oilers defenceman score 1-2-3 from Jan. 20-30. Grebeshkov has scored points (1-4-5) in five of the last eight games (Jan. 13-Feb. 1). He scored a goal vs Columbus (Jan. 20) and had a three-game scoring streak ended in the 6-3 win vs Phoenix (Jan. 18). He scored assists (0-3-3) in each of the Oilers three games between Jan. 13-16. It was Grebeshkov's second three-game scoring streak of the season as he also started the season with points in the first three games (0-4-4; Oct. 12-17).

- The Oilers earned their 20th win of the season with a 2-1 victory vs St. Louis on Jan. 11 at Rexall Place. It marks the 28th time in 29 seasons that the Oilers have won at least 20 games.

- Ales Hemsky scored his 300th career point with two PPA in the Oilers 3-2 win at Vancouver on Dec. 26. Hemsky's second assist of the game came on Sheldon Souray's GWG and was the milestone marker. He is the 15th player in Oilers history to score 300-or-more career points and has 86-222-308 in 386 career games.

HATS OF TO MOREAU AND COLE
- After going 201 games without a hat trick in regular season play, the Oilers scored two hat tricks in a span of four games (Jan. 13-20).
- Ethan Moreau scored his first career NHL hat trick with three goals in the Oilers 6-3 win vs Phoenix (Jan. 18). The Oilers captain scored twice in the first period and then completed his hat trick into an empty net with 0.4 seconds remaining on the scoreclock.
- Moreau's three goals were his 97th, 98th and 99th as an Oiler, leaving him one shy of the century mark in career Edmonton goals.
- Prior to the hat trick, Moreau's single-game career-high for goals was two. He had nine two-goal games, the most recent coming at Carolina on Nov. 1, 2008.
- Erik Cole registered the Oilers first hat trick of the season in the 5-2 road win at Washington (Jan. 13). It was Cole's first hat trick as an Oiler and the fifth of his NHL career.
- Cole's hat trick was the 159th regular season hat trick for the Oilers since 1979-80 and the first since Ryan Smyth scored three times vs San Jose on Oct. 12, 2006.
- Cole's third goal of his hat trick at Washington (Jan. 13) was his 300th career NHL point.

A CASE FOR THE DEFENCE
- Four of the Oilers top eight scorers are defencemen. Sheldon Souray leads the way with 12-20-32 in 47 games to rank him 3rd on the Oilers scoring list and he is tied for 2nd on the team with his 12 goals and is 1st with 7 PPG. Souray is 10th in scoring among NHL defencemen, while he is tied for 4th in goals and 3rd in PPG.
- Souray is joined by Lubomir Visnovksy (4th on Oilers & 13th in the NHL) with 8-23-31, Tom Gilbert (6th on Oilers & 27th in NHL with 3-22-25) and Denis Grebeshkov (7th on Oilers with 4-19-23).
- Souray had a career-high three-game goal scoring streak ended in the Oilers 3-2 loss vs Ottawa (Dec. 30). He scored 3-0-3 from Dec. 22-28. He scored the GWG in three of the Oilers four wins from Dec. 22 to Jan. 3, netting back-to-back game winners vs Phoenix (Dec. 22) and at Vancouver (Dec. 26) and also vs Dallas (Jan. 3).

- Visnovsky had a four game scoring streak (0-7-7; Dec. 19-28) ended in a 3-2 loss vs Ottawa (Dec. 30), but returned to the scoresheet with a goal at Calgary (Dec. 31) and an assist vs Dallas (Jan. 3). He scored points (1-9-10) in seven of 10 games games (Dec. 19-Jan. 9).
