OPENING SHOTS

· The Blackhawks' 4-2 win in San Jose on Saturday ran their record to 2-1 in the opening three matchups of a season-high eight-game road trip, the longest by an NHL club this season; Chicago became just the second team in the NHL this season to win a regulation home game in San Jose.
· Chicago began its road swing with a 3-2 win over Anaheim last Wednesday and a 5-2 loss in Los Angeles on Thursday.
· The Blackhawks have notched a 17-7-2 mark since Dec. 3.
· Chicago's 62 points (27-13-8) is their most through 48 games since the 1990-91 club, which won the President's Trophy, accrued 65 through the 48-contest mark.

TAKING THE HIGH ROAD
· The Blackhawks enter the Western Canada portion of their road trip tonight, a three-game stretch, after skating in three matchups in California last week; Chicago does not play a home game until Feb. 14 and are currently in a stretch where they will play nine of their next 11 games between tonight and Feb. 24 on the road.
· Chicago is currently four games above .500 on the road (13-9-3), tied for a season high.
· The Blackhawks have posted a point in 19 of their 23 home games (14-4-5); the team is currently winless in each of its last three matchups at the United Center (0-2-1), tied for a season high.

EVERYBODY NEEDS A LITTLE CAPTAIN
· Captain JONATHAN TOEWS matched a season-high with two goals in Saturday's win, which included his second game-winning goal of the road trip.

· The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, who was named the third-youngest captain in the history of the NHL last summer, paced league rookies with 24 goals – second-best on the Blackhawks – and seven power-play markers while ranking third with 54 points during his professional debut last season.

FLAVOR OF THE MONTH
· The Blackhawks 7-6-1 record in January marked the franchise's first above. 500 in the first month of the year since 2002 (7-5-1); Chicago posted a 4-9-1 record in January of 2008.

AMERICA RUNS ON DUNCAN
· Defenseman DUNCAN KEITH's third-period goal on Saturday ran his point streak to five games, establishing a career high (G, 5A); KEITH has appeared in all three of the club's games this road trip after missing the previous four due to injury, snapping a streak of 273 consecutive matchups.
· The 25-year-old has collected 19 points (4G, 15A) and a +19 plus/minus rating over his last 19 outings.
· KEITH shares second among NHL blueliners and fourth overall in the league with a +26 plus/minus rating this season; he ranks second among club blueliners with six goals, 23 assists and 29 points in 44 contests this season.
· Last season, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native ranked second among league blueliners and fifth overall with a +30 plus/minus rating, while collecting a career-high 32 points (12G, 20A).

OIL COUNTRY
· Tonight marks the third of four regular-season meetings between the Blackhawks and the Oilers this season and the second of two visits Chicago will make to Edmonton.
· The Blackhawks have posted wins in the first two games of the season series, which includes a 9-2 victory at Rexall Place on Dec. 16 the last time the squads matched up.
· Chicago established season highs for goals (9) power-play goals (4) goals in a period (5 in the second) and margin of victory (7) and tied a season-best with 44 shots in the Dec. 16 victory; the squad’s nine goals marked its most since potting nine on Dec. 4, 1999 at the Boston Bruins.
