Scott Gordon
Notes: The Islanders announced the hiring of Scott Gordon as the franchise’s 14th head coach on August 12, 2008. He is the reigning recipient of the 2008 Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award, presented to the American Hockey League’s Coach of the Year.

In 2007-08, Gordon led the Providence Bruins to an AHL-best record of 55-18-3, while ranking second in the league in goals scored and seventh in fewest goals against. After spending two full seasons as an assistant coach for Providence, Gordon was promoted to head coach in his third season for the final nine games of the 2002-03 regular season and playoffs. Gordon then spent the next five seasons as the head coach of Providence, leading the team to a record of 221-141-20-27 (W-L-T-OT/SOL).
