The Penguins five-game win streak came to a stop in Game 1 at Detroit May 30. Ruslan Fedotenko notched a goal for the
third straight game which resulted in the only goal for the Penguins. Evgeni Malkin has collected a point in 15 of his 18 games
this post-season, inlcuding his 17th assist of the playoffs. Sidney Crosby had his six-game scoring streak snapped in Game 1
at Detroit. Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves as his record fell to 12-6 in the post-eason.

Game 4 - Eastern Conference Finals
The Penguins completed a sweep of the Hurricanes, scoring three or more goals in each of the four games. Sidney Crosby
recorded two assists, extending his scoring streak to six games. Craig Adams notched a goal for the second consecutive game,
while Ruslan Fedotenko tallied his sixth goal of the post-season. Max Talbot registered three points (1G-2A) marking his first
multi-point game of the post-season. Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 saves, picking up his 12th win of the post-season.

May 23 - Penguins 6, Carolina Hurricanes 2
Game 3 - Eastern Conference Finals
The Penguins took a commanding three games to none lead over the Carolina Hurricanes May 23. Evgeni Malkin recorded his
sixth straight multi-point game with three points (2G-1A) and Bill Guerin recorded two points (1G-1A). Craig Adams notched his
first career post-season multi-point game with two points (1G-1A), and Sergei Gonchar added two assists. Sidney Crosby extended
his point streak to five games with two points (1G-1A) and Marc-Andre Fleury picked up his 11th victory of the post-season.

May 21 - Carolina Hurricanes 4 , Penguins 7
Game 2 - Eastern Conference Finals
The Penguins recorded a playoff high seven goals in Game 2 versus the Hurricanes. Evgeni Malkin recorded four points (3G-1A),
including his first career post-season hat trick. Matt Cooke added three assists and Chris Kunitz notched his first tally of the
post-season. Sidney Crosby is currently on a four-game scoring streak and posted two points (1G-1A). Marc-Andre Fleury made
24 saves, picking up his 10th victory of the post-season giving him double-digit playoff wins for the second consecutive season.

May 18 - Carolina Hurricanes 2, Penguins 3
Game 1 - Eastern Conference Finals
Philippe Boucher notched two points (1G-1A), including his first goal of the post-season, while Evgeni Malkin also collected
two points (1G-1A). Miroslav Satan got the Penguins on the board first with his first goal of the post-season and third point in
two games. Sidney Crosby added an assist, his 10th of the post-season. Marc-Andre Fleury made 23 saves, picking up his
ninth victory of the post-season.

      The Penguins and Red Wings are meeting Stanley Cup Final for the second consecutive season. The last time two teams met in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals were the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders in 1983 and 1984.

      The Penguins are making their fourth Stanley Cup Final appearance in franchise history. The Penguins won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 (Minnesota North Stars) & 1992 (Chicago Blackhawks). The Penguins were defeated by the Detroit Red Wings in six games during the 2008 Stanley Cup Final.

      The Penguins are 30-17 all-time in the second game of a best-of-seven series, including a 9-12 mark on the road.

      The Penguins are 2-1 all-time in the second game of the Stanley Cup Final with their only loss coming to the Red Wings last season.

      The Penguins have won six of their last seven post-season series over the past two years, including three straight this post-season versus Philadelphia, Washington and Carolina.

      The Penguins became the first team in the Eastern Conference since the 2000-2001 New Jersey Devils to appear in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.

      Tampa Bay’s Brad Richards set a single-season playoff record by scoring his seventh game-winning goal. Richards tallied the lone goal in a 1-0 victory in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final at Calgary.

      PENGUINS TEAM NOTES:
      The Penguins have outshot their opponent in 15 of their 18 post-season games, compiling a 10-5 (.667) record in those games. The Penguins registered 12 straight games in which they outshot their opponent, going 8-4 from Apr. 23 to May 23. The Penguins continued to rack up the shots, recording 32 against Chris Osgood in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. It marked only the second time in the post-season the Red Wings were outshot at home (Game 2 vs. Chicago).

      The Penguins have been one of the fastest starting teams in the post-season by tallying 24 goals in the first period of action. The Penguins have allowed only 15 goals in the first period in 18 playoff games.

      Nineteen of the Penguins 24 players on the active roster have appeared in a Stanley Cup Final. Only Philippe Boucher, Matt Cooke, Eric Godard and Mathieu Garon will be making their first ever Stanley Cup Final appearance this post-season. Fourteen of the 24 active players were with the Penguins when they met the Red Wings in the 2008 Stanley Cup Final.

      Dan Bylsma became the first ever person to begin the season as head coach in the American Hockey League (AHL) and then guide a National Hockey League (NHL) team to the Stanley Cup Final in the same season. Bylsma was named head coach of the Penguins on Feb 15, guiding them to an 18-3-4 regular season record and fourth place finish in the Eastern Conference.

      The Penguins were held scoreless on two attempts with the man advantage May 30 against the Detroit Red Wings in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Penguins have scored 16 power-play goals on 85 attempts (18.8%) this post-season.       PENGUINS PLAYER NOTES:
      Ruslan Fedotenko has four points (3G-1A) in his last three games, including a goal in three consecutive games from May 23 to May 30. Fedotenko notched his seventh goal of the post-season in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at Detroit May 30. It marked his first Stanley Cup Final goal since recording two goals in Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Final versus the Calgary Flames. Fedotenko’s seven goals this post-season are the second highest total of his playoff career. He recorded 39 points (16G-23A) in 65 regular season games and his 23 assists were a new career high.

      Evgeni Malkin has a point in 15 of his 18 games this post-season, including his 17th assist of the season in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against Detroit May 30. Malkin recently recorded six straight multi-point games, compiling 16 points (7G-9A) from May 9 to May 23. Malkin currently leads the NHL with 29 points (12G-17A) and 17 assists. He has the opportunity to be the first player in the NHL to win the Conn Smythe Trophy and Art Ross in the same season since Mario Lemieux accomplished the feat in the 1991-92 season. He recorded his first career post-season hat trick, part of a career high four-point performance in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Malkin ranks seventh in franchise history, posting 55 points (22G-33A) while setting new post-season career highs in goals (12), assists (17) and points (29). He won the Art Ross Trophy as the League’s top scorer, amassing a career high 113 points (35G-78A) and has been nominated for the Hart Memorial and Lester B. Pearson Awards. Malkin led the NHL with 94 takeaways and 56 road points (19G-37A).
      Sidney Crosby had a six-game scoring streak, tallying 12 points (5G-7A) from May 11 to May 26. He also had three consecutive multi-point games, including two assists in Game 4 at Carolina May 26. Crosby ranks second in the NHL with 28 points (14G-14A) and 14 goals. He also leads the League with five power-play goals and ranks first on the team with a plus-12 rating through 17 post-season games. With his 60 points (23G-37A) in 42 career post-season games, Crosby now ranks sixth in club history in post-season scoring. Crosby tied an NHL record with his sixth game-opening goal in Game 2 versus the Hurricanes May 21. Crosby has set a new career high in points, surpassing his 27 points (6G-21A) set during the 2008 playoffs. He finished the regular season with 103 points (33G-70A) and second with 70 assists. He also led the NHL with 33 power-play assists.
      Marc-Andre Fleury notched his 12th victory of the post-season and 27th of his career in Game 4 at Carolina May 26. It marked the second four-game sweep of his career (2008 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals vs. Ottawa). He has won six of his eight career playoff series, including three straight this post-season. Fleury ranks second in team history with 27 wins, trailing only Tom Barrasso (56). With his 12 victories this post-season Fleury now has double-digit wins in back-to-back post-seasons. Fleury notched 35 victories during the regular season marking the third highest total in franchise history.

      Bill Guerin has five points (2G-3A) in his last four games, including a goal in back-to-back contests (May 23 & 26). Guerin has 14 points (7G-7A) while ranking second on the team with a plus-10 rating. He will be appearing in his first Stanley Cup Final since winning the Cup with New Jersey in 1995 when he also faced the Detroit Red Wings. Guerin has set a new post-season career high with 14 points and has matched a career high with seven goals. He has been an important piece of the Penguins since joining them at the trade deadline. Guerin recorded 12 points (5G-7A) in 15 games with the Penguins during the regular season.
      Sergei Gonchar currently leads all Penguins defensemen with 12 points (2G-10A) in 16 playoff games. His 30 career post-season points (4G-26A) as a member of the Penguins ranks second in club history, trailing only Larry Murphy’s 72 points (15G-57A) in 74 games. Gonchar currently is tied for the NHL lead with eight power-play assists while leading the team with an average ice time of 23:12 minutes per contest.
